The world’s biggest manufacturers of solar panels and batteries are launching a new campaign in support of solar panel costs and the industry’s transition to a carbon-neutral energy system.
IKEA and SolarCity announced the initiative on Monday.
The SolarEdge Solarwall and Powerwall, for example, says that solar panels can be installed at home and can cost between $400 and $600 per watt, depending on the size of the panel and the type of roof.
In California, the solar panel installation cap is currently $600.
The solar panel company says that these solar panels are an affordable way to power homes, and the campaign aims to raise awareness about the need to lower energy prices and get people to adopt a carbon neutral energy system that would be a win-win for everyone.
The solar panels will be available at the following IKEAs and SolarCars nationwide, starting in 2019: IKEA, in the United States, will launch the SolarEdge PV solar panel in the US market beginning in 2021.
SolarCity is launching the Solar Edge Powerwall Solarwall in 2019 in the U.S. market.
American consumer solar panel manufacturers are launching their own solar panel campaigns, including IKEa, SolarEdge, and Tesla.
